Early Spring Migrants

We'll search the Kankakee area for early warblers like Louisiana Waterthrush and Yellow-throated Warbler, then shorebirds - both yellowlegs, Pectoral Sandpipers, and American Golden-Plovers, and finally Smith's Longspur. Locations will include Kankakee River State Park, Perry Farm Park, and Willowhaven Park & Nature Center.

Join us for a day of searching for shorebirds in Kane and DuPage Counties with Kane County Audubon. We'll start at Dunteman Sod Farm in Kaneville, looking for specialties like Buff-breasted Sandpiper and American Golden-Plover. From there, we may visit Nelson Lake/Dick Young Forest Preserve and Fermilab.

South Shore of Lake Michigan with COS
